Everything in motion!
The last few years have changed our society. My life was also shaken up by personal changes. Because of this, I suddenly found myself in nature every day, running in the forest, across meadows or along small streams. Places to think differently. Each step led me further to something I couldn’t yet name, let alone really imagine.

Spending so much time in nature changed something in me. I liked being “outside”. I liked having time for that. What have I been doing with my time so far, and what do I want to do with my time now and in the future? How busy was I in my everyday life with the pitfalls of our modern society? Consumption in many ways. What do I buy and consume and when and where? And by that I mean not only the countless material things, but also those that concern the mind. Above all, the seemingly endless choices often overwhelm me. How can I use time “sensibly” for myself? It was clear that I had to start somewhere.
One: The first step
The easiest thing to do was clean up first. I started to get rid of clothes, furniture and all sorts of small things. The more I “got rid of” the lighter I felt. However, I still felt like I had too much of everything. And I noticed more and more day by day that it was this too much that was taking up my time.

Do you know that? You’re walking past something and something tells you, “Go back!” That’s what happened to me when I walked past the book entitled: “My Life in Three Boxes” by Anne Weiss. I had to go back. The title magically attracted me. No sooner said than done. I was really excited when I started reading. And it was the right book at the right time for me. Maybe it was because the author was the same age as me when I read it. And at 47 you start asking yourself similar questions. Or it was just the theme. Minimalism! What do I really want or need in life? What simplifies my life? What is right for me? What aligns with my values? I was captivated by the book. It set so many things in motion afterwards.

Own less. Have more time. Why live so big? Small living. Grounded. And you have more time for the important things in life.
My fascination for tiny houses and “smaller living” was awakened. And the idea of a tiny office as a new workplace didn’t take long to arrive.
