What was and what had to come!
After the mass is before the mass. We continue to work on our portal. Intuitively, I have suspected for a long time that the trend that was previously only tiny houses would at some point also include modular homes. That’s why we called our portal “Modulhaus-TinyHouse-Portal” right from the start.
The development
Module, derived from the Latin word modulus, the diminutive of modus, denotes a “measure”. Over the centuries, the term has been used today in both technology and construction.
In the construction industry, a modular house refers to a pre-assembled house that is created as a component in serial production. The advantages are expandability and transport. The modular house comes on a low loader. It is then assembled on site using a crane on the selected foundation. On average, the living space of a single module is between 25 and 60 square meters, with the option to combine several modules.
The modules are suitable for living as well as for working, as an extension or addition to existing buildings. The advantage of the modules lies not only in their flexibility, but also in the less surface sealing compared to conventional construction methods. This is what makes small living arrangements so sustainable. More and more companies are now offering modular houses and the selection is growing. Modular houses can play an important role in the future in the tense German housing market.
